School” recently
named the Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina as it’s official branch location
in Newport, Rhode Island. “The Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina offers our clients
and staff a premiere downtown waterfront location which is extremely convenient. The
previous facilities we were using were spread out and this way our participants can
enjoy training, sailing, and lodging plus all of the hotel’s amenities in one
location,” said Doris Colgate, CEO of Offshore Sailing School. Doris and her
husband, Steve, who co-founded the company, are considered experts in the field of
sailing education. Newport, RI is the 7th branch location for Offshore. The other locations
include Tortola-BVI; Captiva Island, FL; Duck Key/Florida Keys,FL; St. Petersburg,
FL; Chelsea Piers, NYC; Liberty Landing- Jersey City, NJ. Participants in the Offshore
programs in Newport stay at the Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina, attend classroom
training at the adjacent Seamen’s Church Institute and then sail out of the hotel’s

to Live Aboard Cruising, so Offshore can work with guests who have no experience as
