ANNOUNCES ADDITION OF HIGH-SPEED
WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS

(Newport, RI )— Today, the Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina announced the addition of a new high-speed wireless internet service, which began on June 12th. “We are extremely pleased to bring this convenient new service to our hotel and marina guests. Our conference clientele and business traveler guests have not only requested this service but recently have begun to expect it wherever they travel,” said the hotel’s General Manager, Ted Schroeder, CHA. The service is provided through AT&T and will allow access throughout the property but will be utilized the most in guestrooms, meeting rooms and the marina.

“This service offers the guest a very affordable option, from $9.95 per day, to connect to the internet” said William Clarke, Director of Sales & Marketing at the hotel. “It also reinforces our competitive advantages in the small meetings and business traveler marketplace. I believe there is only 1 other hotel in Newport County that offers high-speed internet access in all areas, including guestrooms and meeting/function rooms,” stated Clarke.

Guests that have high-end laptop computers and “wireless cards” can take advantage of the wireless service. However, even users with more modest or dated laptop computers can enjoy the benefits of high-speed connections without going “wireless” as a result of the hotel’s recently installed wired high-speed infrastructure of Category 5 lines throughout the property. Rates are the same for both wired or wireless high-speed internet access at $9.95 per day in the guestrooms. Users of the service in the hotel’s meeting and function rooms can expect to pay from $200 per user, per day.

The Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina is a full-service 133 guestroom hotel, located at 49 America’s Cup Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island.
